A New Tanya class By Rabbi Yitzchok Minkowicz
“How should you treat some one that hurt you?
Tanya Igeret Hakodesh Chapter 2
The Alter Rebbe quotes Yaakov who says קטנתי מכל החסדים which means the more Chesed Hashem does for us the humbler we are supposed to be.
As Chesed is the right hand & the right is the hugging side. Since we are receiving Chesed from Hashem we need to humble ourselves. As Chesed is humility so we need to be humbled & in front of Hashem were nothing.
As Avraham said due to Hashem kindness I’m dust & ashes, Yaakov Felt the same as such Yaakov said קטנתי.
By Yishmoel the greater the Chesed the greater the arrogance.
As such the Alter Rebbe says since Hashem should us such tremendous kindness we need to be humble & G-D forbid say a word to those that caused us harm. And actually speaking softly defuses anger.
The greatest accomplishment will be when the way we behave with humility is mirrored to others & they follow the humble path.
“How should you treat some one that hurt you? Nicely & with the hope that they will start behaving nicely as well in return.
