A New Tanya class By Rabbi Yitzchok Minkowicz "The powerful impact of Charity” Tanya Igeret Hakodesh Chapter 3 The Alter Rebbe quotes from the prophet Yeshaya the verse וילבש צדקה כשריון וכובע ישועה בראשו & the Talmud that צדקה is like armor the more the pieces the greater the armor the same with צדקה the more we give the greater the protection. What’s the analogy teaching us? Tzedaka is greater than all the Mitzvot as creates a garment for the soul that derives its energy from the infinite light of Hashem the level of סובב as when your giving Tzedaka your doing the mitzvah of Hashem which comes from the level of רצון of Hashem. This powerful energy becomes a garment & a external wrap around the 10 sefirot of each world that the sefirot Normally only receive from the light of ממלא & אור פנימי when we do a mitzvah we draw סובב into ממלא as the יחוד of קוב״ה & the שכינה This energy creates a garment for the 3 levels of the soul נר״נ that it’s able thru these garment to connect to the infinite light. In this physical world this powerful energy can not reside only in the 10 sefirot for example Chesed is the right hand. So when we do צדקה & Hashem promises us that we will אוכל פירותיהם בעו״הז so there are נקבים that allow the energy flow from the infinite light to the 10 sefirot to receive חסד on the right side with long life, wealth & honor on the left side תפארת as well as the rest of the sefirot. In order that חיצונים should not draw energy from this powerful light & to protect us physically & spiritually so the powerful מקיף light comes down again & seals the hole that’s the definition of מצטרפת לחשבון גדול the great light that charity draws down into the 10 sefirot as the infinite name of Hashem is י is Chochma ה binah ו the 6 midos & ה Malchus. The infinite light as it merges into the Sefirot causes the energy to descend into this world, it starts its entry into the higher Sefirot as the verse says וכובע ישועה בראשו when it enters in the head you turn to welcome the powerful light of שע lights as the Zohar explains the 3 attributes of חבד x 100 & the 7 emotions x 10 the shines on our face this happens all thru giving charity.
