Tanya By Rabbi Yitzchok Minkowicz Sec4 Chap10 How can we receive G-Ds infinite Compassion & Kindness

A New Tanya class By Rabbi Yitzchok Minkowicz “How can we receive G-Ds infinite Compassion & Kindness” Tanya Igeret Hakodesh Chapter 10 The Alter Rebbe quotes from the Book of איכה Lamentations the verse חסדי ה’ כי לא תמנו וגו & asks why it does not say כי לא תמו as seemingly its a reference to G-Ds kindness. There is two types of Chesed One type חסד עולם Second type חסד עילאה / רב חסד Torah is Chesed / Gevurah & the Mitzvot are Gevurah, Aish & Tzimzum as we see in the specific amount of Mitzvot, the specific requirements of each mitzvah, physical items, even in spiritual mitzvah as Love & awe they are limited as to much love of Hashem we would not be able to handle. Even with charity that is one of the three pillars that the world stands on has a fixed amount hence the term חסד עולם the Chesed that fits in the world. We draw down G-Ds light when we do Mitzvot hence the blessing אשר קדשנו במצוותיו however when we miss out an opportunity to do a mitzvah so we’re lacking that G-Dly light the only way to regain that light is by drawing down a much higher light which is called חסד עילאה ורב חסד which is infinitely powerful that can fix errors & draw down new lights hence were a returning Person stands even a righteous man can’t stand. Even though the main aspect of Teshuva is remorse in your heart & that awakens very high light however to create tangible down to earth light one has to creat a אתערותא דלתתא in action bu giving charity with out limits as in רב חסד as Chesed is made up of 2 words ח”ס דלי״ת that is to be compassionate & kind to the poor & destitute. The same way Hashem is constantly pouring kindness to all of us that are poor & destitute compared to Hashem. Hence charity is more powerful than sacrifices. As charity is unlimited versus sacrifices. This one should not give more than 20 percent applies only if one has not sinned. Not when you need spiritual healing. This infinite Chesed is called חסדי ה׳ as Hashem is infinite so is his Chesed. The Alter explains that the prophet is saying since now we see that temple was destroyed so that shows we are not complete לא תמנו hence the reason we need to act in Chesed like Hashem חסדי ה once we do that we will draw down high level of רחמים & חסד as the prophet says כי לא כלו רחמיו This is the meaning of what chazal say אין ישראל נגאלין אלא בצדקה that we give even when or actually specifically when we don’t have to.
