A New Tanya class By Rabbi Yitzchok Minkowicz “Let Go Of A Little & G-D Will Give You Huge Blessings” Tanya Igeret Hakodesh Chapter 8 “Let Go Of A Little & G-D Will Give You Huge Blessings” In the blessings before Shema we say זורע צדקות מצמיח ישועות the Alter Rebbe asks why it uses the term זורע in reference to charity. The Talmud says that Rabbi Elazar would give money to the poor before his prayers. As the verse in psalms says אני בצדק אחזה פניך in order to see the פנימיות of the infinite of Hashem that should light up this dark world as the prophet says וה׳ יגיה חשכי during prayer is a Chesed of Hashem to reveal this infinite part of Hashem. As there is the Midah of Gevura not to reveal the infinite light, however when we creat a אתערותא דלתתא by providing Chesed it creates a אתערותא דלעילא as the Talmud says במדה שאדם מודד בה מודדים לו the question is why do we merit such a high level of Teshuva Ilah a revelation of אין סוף & not just a limited return of עולם הבא ? The Parable of planting. We take a seed & put in the ground, the seed rots & grain & trees grow. How does that work:? The power of growth is in the ground. The seed by allowing it self to give up its life creates an awakening for the ground to produce much better in quantity & quality of new produce. The Arizal describes process as העלאת מ״נ The same thing happens when we give charity the energy goes up to the level of כנסת ישראל, אימא תתאה & שכינה which has all sefirot included in them & the main sefira of Chesed from the highest levels then descends during prayer to brighten up our lives. This is the greatness of Hashem that he can brighten the higher worlds the same as the lower worlds. As it says in psalms זרח בחשך אור לישרים חנון ורחום צדיק when we act with חנון ורחום וצדיק Hashem causes Hashem to bring down the light in to the darkness of the world. Which creates a ישועה that is the transformation of darkness to light. So when we are זורע צדקה that causes מצמיח ישועה when we plant in כנסת ישראל, שכינה which is מלכות of all the worlds & especially in Eretz Yisroel that will cause the great revelation during prayers.
