A New Tanya class By Rabbi Yitzchok Minkowicz “How to brighten our souls with a G-Dly light” Tanya Igeret Hakodesh Chapter 7 “How to brighten our souls with a G-Dly light” In the early morning prayers we say אשרינו מה טוב חלקנו ומה נעים גורלנו referring to the two types of G- Dliness that shines in our souls. Does Hashem have parts? We will explain the term הקדוש ברוך הוא on one hand Hashem literally fills the world on the other hand Hashem is Kadosh above the world nevertheless Hashem is Baruch he is in the world. This infinite part of Hashem as he descended in the world thru many Tzimzumim until it’s broken down to 613 channels corresponding to the torah of 613 commandments & is humans with 613 limbs. More specifically It’s broken down Infinite strands of energy. When we study torah & observe mitzvot they light up our soul with the infinite light of Hashem. During prayer this light gets stronger & intensifies in our mind & heart. So חלקנו is reference to that specific illumination of one or many of the 613 strands of light in our soul. Even though we have to study all of torah & do all the Mitzvot even if we have to keep in returning until we are done nevertheless there are certain Mitzvot that we like better that will create a greater light or certain periods of history that certain specific Mitzvot are the call of the hour & we are more excited about them what causes that light to our soul that is a gift from Hashem & is above intellect & goes in the category of a Gorel.
