Tanya Chapter 42 By: Rabbi Yitzchok Minkowiicz A practical meditation to create an Awesome relationship with G-D. As learnt in chapter 41 יראה is crucial to have a great relationship with G-D. Torah states מה ה׳ שואל מעמך כי אם ליראה the Talmud ask that's not easy and response that for Moshe it's easy. The question is the Torah is referring to all Jews so how is it easy? There are 7 global leaders & each one infuses us with a unique ספירה Moshe infuses us with דעת in every generation there are leaders that teach us how to develop our דעת. The aspect of דעת is not knowledge rather it is to meditate deeply on the greatness of G-D with our מחשבה. Since our soul is in a physical body one needs to work hard to subdue the coarse energy of the body so that it does not block the refined light to shine brightly. Then one has to fire up his soul to meditate deeply on the greatness of G-D. Once one meditates: if your soul is refined you will start feeling awesome feelings for G-D. If you have a coarse soul you will have to work even harder. If you have sinned it will be even harder to spark the awesome feelings. Irrelevant of the difficulty יגעתי ומצאתי תאמין if you work hard you will succeed. The reason that we will succeed in having awesome feelings for G-D is since we all have hidden in the depths of our hearts treasures of awesome feelings for G-D as we meditate with דעת it brings those treasures to our thoughts that will translate to real practical behaviors of not wanting to disconnect from G-D & want to do all positive commandments. The practical meditation is that G-D is עין רואה ואוזן שומעת & actually deeper than that as G-D is really one with us, as well as G-D is צופה ומביט ובוחן כליותיו ולבו וכל מעשיו ודיבוריו וכו. So you will be filled with true יראה for the whole day & small thoughts of the full meditation will help you help with סור מרע ועשה טוב במחשבה דבור ומעשה as we look at the world & we see the garments of Hashem & we know that Hashem is the true force behind them we will be in awe. We can also see the way all the צבא השמים are humble to G-D that will cause us to be an awe. This meditation will also strengthen our אמונה for Hashem. We also will be able to experience קבלת עול מלכות שמים at times when we can't mediate & the קבלת עול will allow us to have the practical benefits of an awesome relationship with Hashem as well.
